Ronan Keating Day has been chosen on the 10th - 11th  of August because that was the first time Ronan performed ever in Canada. It was also the first time I met Ronan, so basically I have tons of reasons to cherish this day. 

Still now, each time I pass by the Much Music building I can still hear echoes of the cheers the time when Ronan stepped out of his Range Rover. He came forward and waited for the fans to approach him. He tried to sign with a Golden Gel pen fortunately it didn't work and I was standing second in line and he turned  to me and asked,

Ronan: Can I borrow your pen?

I was in shock now and handed him the pen like a zombie. 

I had a picture of Jack and Ro at Thorpe Park and when he signed it he smiled and laughed, "Ha Ha". and that was it. I was probably hypnotized. God knows..!

Then at the end of the signing period he came back to me and said, "Excuse me, your pen..." I thought I'd never get it back, well I did and now it's hanging framed on my wall.  

While he signed my Book, I just stared at him, wondering whether I was awake or still dreaming about him. While he got ready for the show, we (the fans standing impatiently outside for more then 4 or 5 hours). When we were allowed to get in, we rushed as if a shooting star passed by. I stood face to face with Ronan about a meter away from him. The only thing that bothered me was the VJ's bushy hair, (sorry Nam .. hey,  had to look out for Ronan..!) Anyways, for the whole fifteen minutes I just stood there staring at this "so" soft spoken man. If anyone asked me the definition of a GENTLEMAN I'd answer "RONAN". So after my reverie, Ronan rushed inside to do another interview and all of us rushed outside to catch the last glance of beauty. 

The next day was even better. The concert at Canada's Wonderland. Thanx to Chum FM, who arranged a one-to-one interview of the performers before the actual concert. Ronan came at the end with a birthday cake for Roger while singing "Happy Birthday To You." He took a seat on the shaky stage and waited for questions shooting at him. Marilyn, one of the fantastic Hosts of Chum FM asked whether anyone had questions, I lifted my hand. To my surprise she came to me and held the mic. 

Me: Ronan before I ask you anything I 'd like to say that I've been waiting for more seven years to see you live.

he laughed and said, "I'm sorry..!" and then he giggled for a while.

Me: Could you sing a line or two of "This Is Your Song?

Ronan: No, not really, I'll be singing it at the concert later.. sorry.

Me: Okay, one thing, we all know how Jack looks like, tell me something about Marie, who does she look like? (though I knew exactly what he would say)

Ronan: Marie looks a bit like me, Jack is more like me Wife.

Marilyn: He has a Lovely wife doesn't he?

Me: Thank you Ronan

Ronan: Thanx for the questions.. Take Care.

My heart beats were so fast, I could hardly keep up with them. The concert that night was an amazing night. I can still hear every bit of the hour. When I returned home that night, my eyes red blood-shot from the crying that I did on way back. I couldn't talk for a whole day. My friends called me up for an update but I was too happy to even talk. I will never forget that night even if I have amnesia, lol. I felt a completeness in my life. I felt such a peace in my heart I never felt before, not even in my most perfect date. 

I am sure a lot of you reading this right now had similar experiences and probably still feel that way. And that's why I thought it would be perfect if we celebrate these two days in the wonderful memories Ronan left us to cherish.
